How This Started

I've been building since I was a kid. Started out doing film and TV sets in Los Angeles, learning the details that separate sloppy work from something you can be proud of. When Covid hit, everything shifted. I came home to Iowa and decided to apply what I knew to residential construction in West Des Moines.

That was over five years ago. What struck me early on wasn't the technical work. It was how often homeowners felt left in the dark. Contractors would disappear for weeks. Nobody answered questions directly. People were genuinely anxious about their own homes. I realized that being straightforward, showing up when I say I will, and explaining what's happening and why—that was just as important as nailing the craft.
